The sequel to "A taste of Rĝisheim" (2004) presents hostess and head of the kitchen Ingrid Hov Lunde and new three-course menues along with recommended wines from husband Haavard Lunde.

Rĝisheim is beautifully situated in Bĝverdalen, the gateway to Jotunheimen. This area is one of Norway's most popular hiking destinations and several routes are described in a seperate chapter. The history of Rĝisheim is also presented.

In the 1800s the farm served as a travel lodge and transport service station along the road to the Sogn mountains. Today Rĝisheim is a top class hotel with quaint, traditional buildings and an outstanding kitchen. Ingrid and Haavard took over as hosts in 1998 and with Ingrid in charge of the cooking Rĝisheim is the perfect choice for wine and food connoisseurs. She swears by Norwegian local ingredients prepared without too much fuss, much like Norwegian cuisine has always been. 7.30 PM, on the dot, the bell rings and thus announces that it's dinner time. Arriving at Rĝisheim is not like arriving at a hotel, it's like coming home.
